How do we prevent rumours (chismis) from
spreading uncontrolably?
A question I often ask not just to myself but
also to my countrymen. Is
it really a necessity in the life of an
individual to create unnecessary
comments about someone whom he or she doesn't
personally know? How can
one manage to sleep at night after causing
emotional or psychological
pain to another person which often causes
breakdown and diminution of
moral?
I, personally, would rather keep my personal
negative thoughts about
other people rather than create problems that may
eventually shatter a
person's character.
Ask yourself, "Why is it so easy to ruin other
people with negative
comments than uplifting them with the positive
assets they possess?
Just wondering...

| "The fishermen have gone........." |
During the last week of July, members of the
Filipino community in Geneva were privy to the Fisherfolk-Movement . We met,
mingled, and shared "just being Filipino" with
them. There was a picnic with the members at Parc
des Croppettes and a concert at Bains des Pacquis.
Our fishermen friends were here for a cause. What
happened to WTO "Talks" afterwards is something
else. Ugnayang Bayan together with other civil
organizations were there to witness history.

| GK and Ramon Magsaysay Award |
Yesterday, the 6th of August I was with Bobby
Montenejo right after the 11 am mass at Pope John
xxiii. I know he is involved in GK Swiss and the
memory of a major award for GK passed through the
consciousness while sipping coffee. It was TFC
which brought the news that GK won the prestigous
Ramon Magsaysay Award. The
logo of GK is right below the awardee himself, Mr.
Antonio Meloto. A tribute to GK was well expressed
by Mr. Fred
Tinga . A Couples for Christ devotee himself,
Inq7's Jose Ma. Montelibano touched
on the hard work of the GK members. Agence France-Presse had
mentioned the award as early as the end of July.
To all of you, GK heroes here and everywere
(including NASA) Congratulations and Mabuhay!

| 2nd Newsletter of the UB, another view- |
The newsletter can sometimes present just
that :news. The bold letters, pictures, and other
architectural designs within the A4 size paper
give life and create interest to the reader. We
published the 2nd UB
newsletter other than the pdf file-just
text, no pictures and super background.
